Pipes is a collection of instruments derived from a variety of cardboard tubes, aluminum spray cans, dreamcatchers, and PVC pipes. Even if the pitch of most of the sources is not stable, all instruments were manually tuned. Each instrument features from 3 to 6 Round Robin samples and up to 3 velocity layers. One of the main instruments is a sampled Wah Wah Tube (aka Vibratone): bell-like sound with a very long release and a dedicated control for overtones. There are a couple of sound designed patches derived from the original instruments along with Kontakt Multis ready to play.
Soundscapes, textures and ambiences ready to use as Kontakt instruments or WAV loops. These sounds are divided in two main categories: concrete and gear. The raw concrete samples were recorded in different places across Europe (Paris, Dublin, London and Naples) using studio or handy equipment. The raw gear samples were recorded from hardware synthesizers like a Custom Eurorack Modular Synth, guitar pedals and noisy toys like the Thingamagoop 2. Everything was then processed and boxed inside a Kontakt instrument with a custom performance view. The pitch bend is assigned to a ±24 pitch transpose, good for glitch effects. All samples are perfect loops, so if you don’t have Kontakt you can load them directly.
What happens when a ’90s analog synth meets an ’80s tape recorder? We sampled a famous Analogue Bass Synth to tape using a new old stock cassette, and boxed it into a Kontakt Instrument. The original synth produced fat basses and sharp leads, but now the raw tape sounds and unstable pitch add perfect elements for “tron” like sounds. Each waveform (Sawtooth, Square, Pulse 5%) was sampled chromatically from C0 to C7 and each sample is more then 6 seconds long. In the custom Performance View a Saturation and Limiter Input Gain are added to the original synth’s parameters.
Why use sticks when you can use ping pong balls?
Pong Glockenspiel is a Kontakt Instrument made by recording a toy glockenspiel played with ping pong balls. Two velocity layers (hard and soft) are cross faded to have a smooth transition while the 3 round robin (repetitions samples) avoid the “machine gun” effect of sampled instruments. There are also included two ambient instruments, two synth pad instruments and two slowed down instruments crafted using the original samples.

Wood is a sample library made by sampling hits, collision or effects with wooden tools (sticks, claves, boards, drums, castanets, bowls and so on). The samples are then processed into different instruments ranging from tuned/untuned percussions, drum kits, hits/noises to sound textures and sound effects. Wood features 17 instruments and 4 multis using 278 stereo samples with many round robin and velocity layers. Four standard effects are accessible from the custom performance view: Saturation, Rotator, Delay and Reverb.
In the lab, for years, covered by other instruments and things, there was this old Italian analog synthesizer from 1979: the Jen SX1000. Monophonic with just 1 oscillator, it was often called “poor man’s Moog”. It is always hard to sample analog gears so, instead of trying to clone it (which is obviously impossible for a sampler), we decided to use the samples of each waveform to build an hybrid synthesizer taking advantage of the Kontakt Script language. It sounds both vintage and new! It is also possible to drift the oscillators to emulate the tuning problems of vintage analog synthesizers and to hear the usual knobs noise caused by dust while tweaking them. The Performance View follows the original parameters scheme adding, of course, new features.
