Soundscapes Vol.2 (VST/AU)

Soundscapes, textures and ambiences ready to use as VST/AU plug-in. These sounds are divided into four categories: binaural, concrete, inductor and piezo. The samples were recorded in different places across the world (Las Vegas, Dublin, Prague, Naples, and Cosenza) using studio or portable equipment.

Satellite

The Satellite is a rare and less known Moog synthesizer from the mid 70s. It’s a monophonic preset synthesizer with one VCO and limited modulations. It was used mostly as an add-on for electric organs, in fact the US company Thomas Organ bought the license to build it. Preset sounds include brass, reeds, strings, other sounds. As many keyboards of that time the Satellite is not properly tuned along all the keys (especially at the extremes) so we included two versions: tuned and untuned.

miniBit

miniBit is a 8-bit/chiptune style synthesizer that emulates the sound of 80s game consoles and retrocomputers.
It features a main oscillator with 12 waveforms paired with a sub oscillator (a square wave pitched one octave below). The waveforms are not bandlimited and will produce aliasing. Furthermore, using the built-in bitcrusher, you can create even more noisy and retro sounds.

Environments – Piscina Mirabilis

Environments “Piscina Mirabilis” features sound gestures from a handmade electroacoustic feedback setup and the impulse response (three different types) of “Piscina Mirabilis”, a roman water cistern located in Bacoli, in the northwest of Gulf of Naples (Italy). The cistern, made in Augusts era, it’s the biggest roman cistern of drinking water ever realized. The place is entirely made of tophus with a capacity of 12,000 cubic meters of water, it’s 72 meters long and 25 meters large with a height of 15 meters.

Tank Drum

Tank Drum features samples from a famous steel tongue drum. Also called hank drums, these instruments are usually made out of propane tanks with tongues of different sizes and tuned in different scales. The instrument we have sampled features 8 tongues and it’s tuned in E minor pentatonic. It was played both with hands and rubber mallets along with some sound effects with hands and brushes. The sound has a long release and is rich in harmonics.

ChromaKey

ChromaKey is a collection of sounds ported to Kontakt from our soundset for AAS Chromaphone. It features 60 patches divided in 6 categories: Keys, Pads, Plucked Strings, Sequences, Soundscapes, and Various. Chromaphone physical modelling synthesis combines acoustic resonators to produce dynamic and expressive sounds.
Despite Chromaphone tagline “creative percussion synthesizer”, ChromaKey focuses entirely on hybrid and organic melodic sounds.

Soundscapes Vol.2

Soundscapes, textures and ambiences ready to use as Kontakt instruments or WAV loops. These sounds are divided into four categories: binaural, concrete, inductor and piezo. As our previous version Soundscapes Vol.1, the samples were recorded in different places across the world (Las Vegas, Dublin, Prague, Naples, and Cosenza) using studio or portable equipment. We used different types of microphones, including handmade piezo and inductor mics, a large condenser microphone and a binaural microphone set. Everything was then processed and boxed inside a Kontakt instrument with a custom GUI. The pitch bend is assigned to a ±24 pitch transpose for glitch effects. All samples are seamless loops, so if you don’t have Kontakt you can load them directly into your DAW.

Strings (VST/AU)

Strings is a collection of sampled string instruments ported from our homonymic sampleset for iZotope Iris. This soundset includes synths, pads, soundscapes, drones, and many effects derived from strings samples. The sampled instruments were a Tenayo AutoHarp, a Romanian Toy Harp, a Baton Rouge Soprano Ukulele, a Chinese Violin, and a Squier Bass.

Pipes (VST/AU)

Pipes is a collection of instruments derived from a variety of cardboard tubes, aluminum spray cans, dreamcatchers, and PVC pipes. Even if the pitch of most of the sources is not stable, all instruments were manually tuned. Each instrument features from 3 to 6 Round Robin samples and up to 3 velocity layers. One of the main instruments is a sampled Wah Wah Tube (aka Vibratone): bell-like sound with a very long release and a dedicated control for overtones. There are a couple of sound designed patches derived from the original instruments along with Kontakt Multis ready to play.
