We’ve been making audio products for ten years, and we’d like to mark the occasion by looking back at the history of AudioThing and looking forward to its future.
AudioThing developed its first sample library in April 2011, and by 2013 had moved to developing plugins out of curiosity for Digital Signal Processing and the sense that it was the next step. AudioThing then moved from Italy to Ireland to get the company up and running. Since then, we’ve developed meticulous emulations, such as our Space-Echo “Outer Space” and our Dolby “Type A”, and subtle original ideas like The Orb, Frostbite, and Fog Convolver. We have also worked internationally in developing plugins with artists like Hainbach and Alborosie. These collaborations have yielded unique emulations like the Alborosie Dub Station, the Wires Soviet Wire recorder, and Things – Motor.
From here we are planning to move back to Italy by the end of 2021, where we will continue to develop new plugins, and update existing ones. We’d like to focus on creating more virtual instruments to complement our many effects.
Thank you all so much for ten years of AudioThing – we couldn’t do it without you.
